What If (It was all a Big Mistake)?

We are still a wealthy nation, and our currency is still trusted by the world, yet we are vulnerable to some harsh realities about our true wealth and the burden of our future commitments. Overwhelming debt and the precarious nature of the dollar should serve to restrain our determined leaders, yet they show little concern for deficits. Rest assured, though, the limitations of our endless foreign adventurism and spending will become apparent to everyone at some point in time.

16. What if democracy is deeply flawed, and instead we should be talking about liberty, property rights, free markets, the rule of law, localized government, weak centralized government, and self-determination promoted through persuasion, not force?

22. What if the principle of pre-emptive war is adopted by Russia, China, Israel, India, Pakistan, and others, “justified” by current U.S. policy?

26. What if our policy of democratization of the Middle East fails, and ends up fueling a Russian-Chinese alliance that we regret-- an alliance not achieved even at the height of the Cold War?

29. What if we discover the army is too small to continue policies of pre-emption and nation-building? What if a military draft is the only way to mobilize enough troops?

34. What if we discover, too late, that we can’t afford this war-- and that our policies have led to a dollar collapse, rampant inflation, high interest rates, and a severe economic downturn?

Policing the world, spreading democracy by force, nation building, and frequent bombing of countries that pose no threat to us-- while leaving the homeland and our borders unprotected-- result from a foreign policy that is contradictory and not in our self interest.

What if We The People don't wake up until we're on our way down the drain?

I have yet to receive a response to my letter to Utah's purported Governor, Jon Huntsman Jr., inviting him to help restore constitutional government. It's high tide as the water reaches near the top of the bowl. You can almost see the drain as the whirlpool begins to spiral downwards towards the bottom.

In that letter, I enclosed a key. It was a one ounce silver coin I had received in payment of debt for my labor. (The first time the the whole of my working life that I have been paid) Minted by the Constitution mint in Provo, Utah, it had the U.S.S. Constitution engraved on the front. On the back is the engraving of Article I Section 10...

“No State shall make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts...”

It’s difficult to imagine how someone can be so successful in business without an understanding the value of a Dollar. (nudge nudge, wink wink)

"All the perplexities, confusion and distresses in America arise not from defects in the constitution or confederation, nor from want of honor or virtue, as much from downright ignorance of the nature of coin, credit, and circulation.”
--John Adams, letter to Thomas Jefferson

Come on Jon. "Buck Up!" If we don't get this job done, our republic goes down the drain!

The world is watching. Are we going to export democracy, which always falls to gimme socialism; or are we going to promote the freedom of a constitutional republic?

The task and responsibility to make conscious life happily creative and forever imperishable falls upon the conscious individual to harness his or her nature in a Constitutional Republic governed by natural law that protect individual life and property rights. [Blog Genesis]

25 Reasons why the Sound Money Bill Must Be Supported

Jason Hommel of goldismoney.com
July 8th, 2004

The state of Nevada considered minting and issuing silver coins in 2003. They were thinking about minting once ounce silver coins with a legal tender face value of $20.

But that creates a problem. That would not be sound silver money, but rather, fraudulent silver money. It is unjust to print $20 bills on $5-6 worth of silver! See: NEVADA SILVER COIN BILL: SOUND SENTIMENT BUT BAD JUDGEMENT by Franklin Sanders.

Today, the state of New Hampshire has a sound money bill that is going to do it right. It will allow the State to use gold and silver coins minted by the U.S., in transactions with the public, at the current market value of the coins.

So, then, here are my 25 Reasons why the Sound Money Bill Must Be Supported!

A National ID Bill Masquerading as Immigration Reform

by Rep. Ron Paul, MD

Supporters claim it is not a national ID because it is voluntary. However, any state that opts out will automatically make non-persons out of its citizens. The citizens of that state will be unable to have any dealings with the federal government because their ID will not be accepted. They will not be able to fly or to take a train. In essence, in the eyes of the federal government they will cease to exist. It is absurd to call this voluntary. [LewRockwell.com]

BUSH'S BUDGET MEANS NOTHING

By: Devvy
February 8, 2005
NewsWithViews.com

"To preserve [the] independence [of the people,] we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our callings and our creeds, as the people of England are, our people, like them, must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses, and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they now do, on oatmeal and potatoes, have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account, but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, 1816. ME 15:39

The current chatter is about Bush's proposed budget in which the adjective 'astronomical' doesn't even come close to hitting the mark. While the Democrats and Republicans have begun exchanging spit over which programs will get cut or receive less money that will have to be borrowed since there is no money in the people's treasury, constitutionally, all of it is meaningless. More distractions to pit the special interest groups against the opposite political party and provide lots of blather for talk radio.

Why is Bush's budget meaningless? Due to the dumbing down of the American people and the absolute corruption of our political system, few even know the actual job description for a president of these united States of America according the to the U.S. Constitution: [NWV]

The President is Supposed to be Our Executive

“There is one and only one legitimate goal of United States foreign policy. It is a narrow goal, a nationalistic goal: the preservation of our national independence. Nothing in the Constitution grants that the president shall have the privilege of offering himself as a world leader. He is our executive; he is on our payroll; he is supposed to put our best interests in front of those of other nations. Nothing in the Constitution nor in logic grants to the president of the United States or to Congress the power to influence the political life of other countries, to ‘uplift’ their cultures, to bolster their economies, to feed their people, or even to defend them against their enemies.” (The Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson,
p. 614; see also pp. 682 & 704.)

“Many well-intentioned people are now convinced that we are living in a period of history which makes it both possible and necessary to abandon our national sovereignty, to merge our nation militarily, economically, and politically with other nations, and to form, at last, a world government which supposedly would put an end to war.” (Ibid., p. 695.)

This just posted by David Goodyear:

Liberty and Democracy are incompatible...

We are not and never have been a democracy. Our system of government was set up as a republic. Unfortunately it had too many democratic chromosomes to survive very long. The republic died with the civil war. Since then we have become a socialist democratic republic. The Constitution is violated on a daily basis by the very government officials sworn to protect it. And not content with demonstrating to the world again, that democracies will not protect the rights of individuals, we have undertaken to spread democracy throughout the world, thereby contaminating other cultures and economic systems with the cancerous socialism of democratic government.

Gunner sends us to this article which decribes what liberty is ( I think many of you have no clue...)

To clear the decks, let me say right off the bat, that freedom is NOT the same as democracy. In fact, democracy can be shown to be inimical to freedom.

The counting of heads, or the will of the majority, in no way protects or guarantees freedom. In fact, freedom can be utterly obliterated under democracy--as the rise of Hitler's National Socialist Workers Party did prove.

So let's forget about democracy, and concentrate on freedom.
I'm all for spreading freedom around the world--but before you can do that, you need to understand exactly what it is.

Can freedom be defined in one sentence, one phrase, or one word? Is it possible to define freedom in a way that will eliminate confusion?

I believe there is. The foundation of freedom is the principle of "self ownership." More
here...And...from "Democratic Dictatorships"...

Democracy has failed as a system of government, it has failed to protect the natural rights of the individual, it has failed to maintain a free enterprise system and it has failed to provide rule of law based upon objective justice. Democratic systems have become dominated by cartels formed between political parties, corporations and special interests that corrupt the system and turn the "law" into a weapon of exploitation and petty tyranny. Because democracy always leads to mob rule, no one's rights are safe, in its purest form, direct democracy leads to the passions of the mob overwhelming the rights of minorities, while the Republican system of representative democracy results in powerful special interests seizing power and running roughshod over the rights of individuals. The most corrupting effect of this system is the institutionalization of crimes against natural human rights, a system where the "law" is used as an instrument of theft, oppression and murder against those who exercise their rights in ways counter to the interests of those in power. Under the cult of democracy, any legislation, any program, any action which has the stamp of approval from the voters is seen as sacrosanct. This leads to an almost complete suppression of any meaningful public debate that questions the foundations of the democratic system itself. The public debate then becomes, how to go about plundering the world to serve the interests of those who compete for power.

More here...

Thomas Jefferson, in his Notes on Virginia, stated: "One hundred and seventy-three despots would surely be as oppressive as one....An elective despotism was not the government we fought for.

I have faith that the Constitution will be saved as prophesied by Joseph Smith. It will be saved by the righteous citizens of this nation who love and cherish freedom. It will be saved by enlightened members of this Church—among others—men and women who understand and abide the principles of the Constitution.

This Is Not About Freedom...

It’s about the anticivilization circling the bowl!

New Republic Calls for Death and Torture of Arundhati Roy and Stan Goff

The words "libelous" and 'the New Republic" have a proud history of walking arm-in-arm. Now, in the esteemed tradition of [former TNR writer who peddled fiction as fact] Stephen Glass, The New Republic has stooped to a new low, publishing a piece that calls for violence, torture, and even death for leading leftists who dare oppose Bush's war on terror and the slaughter in Iraq.
[counterpunch]

First they came for Ward Churchill, then they came for YOU!

“All decent people, whether Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, should denounce the views of Ward Churchill,” Bill Owens, the Republican governor of Colorado, writes in a letter he sent to Isaiah Lechowit, the president of the University of Colorado College Republicans, who will read it to a lynch mob demanding the resignation of Churchill, the latest victim of the Bushzarro world purge of academe. “Not only are his writings outrageous and insupportable, they are at odds with the facts of history.”

Are they really? [Kurt Nimmo]

US Declares Iraqis Must Destroy Their Own Seeds

For the record: "U.S. declares Iraqis can not save their own seeds"

"As part of sweeping "economic restructuring" implemented by the Bush Administration in Iraq, Iraqi farmers will no longer be permitted to save their seeds, which include seeds the Iraqis themselves have developed over hundreds of years. Instead, they will be forced to buy seeds from US corporations. That is because in recent years, transnational corporations have patented and now own many seed varieties originated or developed by indigenous peoples. In a short time, Iraq will be living under the new American credo:

Pay Monsanto, or starve ."
[rense]

From The Ecologist...

Under the guise of helping get Iraq back on its feet, the US is setting out to totally re-engineer the country's traditional farming systems into a US-style corporate agribusiness. They’ve even created a new law – Order 81 – to make sure it happens. [Article here]

The Seventh Plank...

Government control of factories and the instruments of production; cultivation of the soil in accordance with a common plan.

Government control of the instruments of production? Try farming. Subsidies to grow some crops, sometimes payments not to grow any crops. Recently, some farmers in California were fined for putting back seed from their own crops to plant next year. It is now a regulatory violation for farmers to keep and plant their own seeds. Mandated by law to use only patented, hybrid seeds, farmers are at the mercy of government authorized-seed sources to get their next crop planted...
[Idaho Observer] - 1999!

Where are all these bubble comming from?

Ribit, ribit...
